Authentication

We authenticate pre-owned luxury watches in person at our Sydney CBD showroom. It's the same inspection every watch passes before we offer it for sale, and it's available whether you're buying privately, preparing to sell, or simply want to know what you own.

The inspection

We begin with the case: reference and serial engravings, the rehaut, finishing and proportions. The dial and hands are examined under magnification for printing, lume and alignment, and the bezel, crown, crystal and bracelet are matched to the reference and period. Where appropriate, and only with your agreement, the case back is opened to confirm the calibre. Box and papers are checked against the serial.

Most inspections are completed in a single appointment. Whatever we find is explained to you clearly and in private.

Questions

Can a watch be authenticated from photos?
Photos can rule out an obvious fake. They can't confirm a watch is genuine. That needs the watch in hand.

Which brands do you inspect?
Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Omega, Tudor, Cartier, Grand Seiko, IWC, Panerai and most other major Swiss and Japanese makers.

What happens if something isn't right?
We'll show you exactly what we found and why. Every inspection is confidential.
